RAVENNA announces four new products at ProLight & Sound 2014 06 Mar 2014
RAVENNA is pleased to announce the unveiling of no less than four new RAVENNA-enabled products at ProLight & Sound 2014 from three different manufacturers.
The first is the DMI-8 from renowned microphone manufacturer, Neumann, which will be available later this year with a dual-port RAVENNA interface option. The DMI 8 is an 8-channel interface for AES 42 microphones, which now enhances the RAVENNA signal chain towards the acoustic sound source. A fully functional pre-series prototype will be on exclusive preview at the RAVENNA booth (B50, Hall 8.0).
The second product comes from DirectOut, manufacturers of connectivity/routing solutions for the pro audio market. DirectOut is showcasing their new MONTONE.42 device, a RAVENNA-to-MADI converter featuring four MADI and two RAVENNA ports. (Booth B91, Hall 8.0).
DirectOut are also introducing a new RAVENNA interface option for the PRODUCER.COM multi-functional MADI embedder/de-embedder, control and communications product which now features high-performance, ultra-low latency RAVENNA streaming with up to 64 channels.
Finally, Merging Technologies are pleased to introduce us to HAPI, son of the award-winning RAVENNA-enabled HORUS networked audio interface with mic preamp and AD/DA converter. HAPI is aimed at those requiring fewer channels and a smaller form factor but who still wish to benefit from the star quality, no-compromise features of HORUS. HAPI will be available for meet-and-greets on the Merging Technologies booth B90, Hall 8.0.
About RAVENNA
RAVENNA is a technology for real-time distribution of audio and other media content in IP-based network environments. Utilizing standardized network protocols and technologies, RAVENNA can operate on existing network infrastructures. RAVENNA is designed to meet the strict requirements of the pro audio market featuring low latency, full signal transparency and high reliability.
While primarily targeting the professional broadcast market, RAVENNA is also suitable for deployment in other pro audio market segments like live sound, install market and recording. Possible fields of application include (but are not limited to) in-house signal distribution in broadcasting houses, theaters, concert halls and other fixed installations, flexible setups at venues and live events, OB van support, inter-facility links across WAN connections and in production & recording applications.
Unlike most other existing networking solutions, RAVENNA is an open technology standard without a proprietary licensing policy. RAVENNA is fully compatible with the recently published AES67-2013 standard on High-performance streaming audio-over-IP interoperability.
