How I Met Object Matrix
Roger is currently a non-executive director at Object Matrix and was formerly chairman. In his most recent executive position he was director of a business unit at Hewlett-Packard with responsibilities for a significant P&L in Europe, Middle East and Africa and for the past 40 years has had a variety of senior marketing, sales, product management and general management positions in the UK, US and Europe, all in IT and telecommunications. He has held executive positions in various companies including AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Unisource, Eircom and Cap Gemini.
Roger has previously been a non-executive director of Guardian IT plc and a non-executive director in the NHS.
The Reason Why I Believed in Object Matrix I first met Jon, Nick and Francisco back in 2009 when I was asked to become their non-exec chairman. I'll never forget our first meeting when Jon and Nick came over from Brussels and arranged to meet me in a disused tunnel somewhere in the bowels of Goodge Street tube station - my initial reaction was what the hell?! Turned out it was a massive tape library where literally thousands of tapes from all sorts of customers were stored in a network of disused tube tunnels which were apparently constructed during WW2. How things have changed since then - I knew at the time and I know now what a superb automated and integrated video content offer Object Matrix have for broadcasters, telcos, banks, utilities and major league sports teams and it's no surprise to me that they now have the bluest of blue chip customers in many countries. They have a superb offer, a superb bunch of development and support people and above all they're just really great people to work with. Object Matix Comment Roger joined the company in 2007 as Chairman. Our first site visit with Roger was to see MatrixStore being run in a converted London WWII bunker, underneath Tottenham Court Road! Little did Roger realise what a journey he was getting into. Roger has always been an experienced voice on the sales efforts, a solid voice of reason on the company direction and someone who has been a personal support throughout.
