Arvato Systems Would Like to Congratulate Shot Putter David Storl on his ird European Championship Win

This year the shot putter won the European championship for the third time, following wins in 2012 and 2014

(Arvato Systems) G tersloh, Germany - David Storl, a native of Leipzig in the German region of Saxony, has been crowned the European shot put champion for the third time. Following victories in 2012 and 2014, Storl ascended the victor's podium once more at the European Athletics Championships held in Amsterdam, Netherlands this past weekend.

Storl has added a third European championship to his resume. The 25-year-old Leipzig native, who is sponsored by Arvato Systems as part of a regional sports sponsorship initiative, set a new record of 21.31 meters at the competition in Amsterdam, which secured him his third gold medal at a European championship. No other shot putter has collected as many European championship wins as he has.

David Storl, a member of Leipzig's SC DHfK sports club, became the youngest-ever world and European shot put champion at the age of 21. He is also the first shot putter ever to hold both titles at the same time.

As Storl's sponsor, Arvato Systems would like to warmly congratulate him on his third European championship win and wish him all the best at the Olympic Games in Rio. The men's Olympic shot put competition begins on 18 August.
