In our weakness, He is our strength: IT IS WRITTENAs we move closer to the end times, I believe He is wanting to teach us more about this dimension, so that we will have strength in Him.

I am in the midst of a family health trial at present, which can leave one feeling weak and vulnerable in being unable to help. But I know that it is the plan of the enemy to make us feel helpless and defenseless. It is not God's way! When Paul begged God to take away his thorn (whatever it was), God said:

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness'. Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) My Heavenly Father has been constantly reminding me again of the importance of resting in Him and abiding in His peace, despite the storm. We need to have HIS perspective on all things!

God is the source of all our strength As I close my eyes, withdrawing from circumstances and instead focusing on God: On His awesome majesty and power, the grace of His character and the wonder of His love for us, He comes to fill me with His supernatural peace (Greek: EIRENI), through which He re-aligns me to His perspective.

This then enables me to enter the rest of God, where I know that there is a bigger picture in which He is at work behind the scenes, working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28).

I am sensing that God wants to draw us through the veil so to speak, so that we can see into the riches of His Kingdom: His design for our lives - despite any overwhelming circumstance. He wants to teach us how to take up our authority in Christ, both knowing and believing what He has already done on our behalf. How to see things through His eyes, by seeking and finding Him when we search with all our hearts (Jeremiah 29:13).

As we learn to lean into Him and trust in His character, we learn great and unsearchable things that we did not know (Jeremiah 33:3). Our Father - all powerful, all knowing, all seeing - is the only one who can control the raging, torrential storms. He is the only one who can teach us how to experience the miraculous (as in the early church days).

As we move closer to the end times, I believe He is wanting to teach us more about this dimension, so that we will be strong in Him, despite our weakness or weariness!

God's power is greatest when we surrender our weakness to Him, and stop working and striving to overcome, but instead rest in the knowledge that Christ in me is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). The same power that rose Jesus from the dead is living and active within me (Romans 8:11).

I can trust Him! God's way is contrary to the way of the world, where we need to come across as strong and invincible and to act like we've got it all together.

I find this so freeing! It is not up to me to win favour, to prove myself to others, to sustain myself and my loved ones. Instead, by entrusting all this to Him, we get to boast about how God sustained us through all the trials, teaching and training us all along the way:

and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.

Deuteronomy 1:31 (NIV) Ultimately, this brings glory to Him alone.

As I press more fully into Him, with all my mind and all my heart, fully trusting in His faithfulness, I find His peace like a river attending to my soul. And then, in my weakness, I become strong in Him.

PRAYER I love your word dear Lord. Thank you that your ways are not our ways and your thoughts not our thoughts. Thank you that we can trust you to be strong in our weakness, so that we have nothing to prove, nothing to fear. You are faithful, you are powerful, and you are eternal. We can trust you!
