Two AFP photo exhibitions featured at Visa pour l'Image 2015 From 29 August to 13 September 2015, the International Festival of Photojournalism showcases the work of B lent Kili in Ukraine, Turkey and Syria and Mohamed Abdiwahab's photographs of the everyday lives of the Somali people, scarred by terrorist attacks and battles between rival gangs.

The first exhibition retraces B lent Kili 's remarkable coverages in Syria, Ukraine and Turkey from 2014 to 2015. These photographs won numerous prizes, including the World Press Photo Award, the Bayeux-Calvados War Correspondents Award, the National Press Photographers Association Award (NPPA) and the China International Press Contest (CHIPP). Mr Kili was also recognised as the best agency photographer of 2014 by Time Magazine and the Guardian.

B lent Kili 's exclusive coverage of Syrian refugees crossing into Turkey in mid-June 2015 was featured on the front pages of international media.

B lent Kili , born in 1979, is a Turkish photographer who began his career writing for the local press. He became a photojournalist in 2003, joining AFP two years later as a freelance. He is currently chief photographer for Turkey.

The other exhibition, entitled Somalia , features the work of Mohamed Abdiwahab. His photographs capture the everyday violence perpetrated by the Al-Shabaab Islamists who have led an insurrection in the country since 2007 and stepped up guerrilla operations and suicide bombings in the Somali capital. Mohamed Abdiwahab, a 28-year-old Somali photographer based in Mogadishu, has worked for AFP since 2011. After completing secondary school, he studied through correspondence courses and learned on the job, working with local journalists.

With its network of 500 photographers who are regular winners of the most prestigious international prizes, AFP distributes more than 3,000 pictures a day and is recognised for its photography expertise and coverage. Some 23 million images are available on the multimedia platform AFP Forum, whose offer is enriched by more than 50 partners. More than five million photographs were downloaded from this site in 2014. Created in 1985, the international photo service has multiplied its production seven-fold since 2000.
