Africa telecoms summit to be held in Ghana --

On Friday 4 April the 3rd West Africa Telecom Summit, hosted by Mobile World Magazine, will take place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana.
The summit will feature valuable perspectives from industry leaders in a panel discussion dedicated to the fast advancing telecommunications business in Africa and its function in driving social and economic development. The event will also aim to address major challenges faced by operators in the field.
Akin Naphtal, Group Publisher of MobileWorld Magazine says: The summit will be one to provide a compelling environment to discuss the changing landscape of the telecommunications industry and deliberate on critical industry related topics and trends currently affecting the telecommunications development.
Naphtal adds that challenges within the advancing data management segment will be highlighted: Among these is the data explosion, where we have increased data usage in the industry, with the smart phone driving growth in broadband and users. We re also looking at the regulatory work, the cloud market, as well as mobile-valued added services and growing trends within the industry.
Let s look at what we currently have, where are the areas we can develop more. How can we increase employment, how can we improve on our services? We re going to have live discussions from the users of these technologies coming together. We re going to hear what the government has planned. Various issues like tax will be discussed. It s about bringing these (issues) together and furthering improvements in the sector, he concludes.
