(Arvato Systems) G tersloh - Vidispine announced the availability of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elemental MediaConvert on the Vidinet media services platform, featuring API integration between the Vidispine API with AWS Elemental MediaConvert through the Vidinet media service platform.

Growing consumption of video content on any device and an expectation to quickly re-use and monetize content put a massive demand on content management systems. By integrating the Vidispine API with AWS Elemental MediaConvert through the Vidinet platform, customers get access to an end-to-end content management platform, full re-use of existing AWS Elemental MediaConvert transcode presets, and simplified pricing calculation using the unique cost prediction feature in the Vidispine API.

AWS Media Services are managed cloud services that make it fast and easy to prepare, process, and deliver broadcast and multiscreen video at scale. Services supported by this API integration include AWS Elemental MediaConvert, a file-based video transcoding service with broadcast-grade features. It allows customers to easily create video-on-demand (VOD) content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery at scale.

Vidispine API is a media content management platform, available as a fully managed service on the Vidinet platform. The API gives developers access to advanced metadata handling, storage management, essence management, and integration to any third-party services. Vidinet is a platform as a service (PaaS) that enables customers to connect highly scalable media services directly to the Vidispine API, executing where the content resides. The unique cost-aware API predicts the price for any media service job on the platform.

Vidispine uses AWS to run Vidispine API and Vidinet, utilizing the global reach and high availability of AWS to enable customers to execute Vidinet services in the same regions they store content, with predictable pay-as-you-go pricing. Customers can reuse all existing AWS Elemental MediaConvert transcode presets, and pricing calculations are simplified with the unique cost-prediction feature provided by the Vidispine API.
