Its not often you get one of the best seats in the stadium at an English Premier League match but when Polecam rigs were used to provide both live and Ultra Slo Mo inside the goal action, Tom Paterson of Forager Films and Stuart Nicholls of Emagine Productions stepped up with their rigs to offer their services with the help of Camera Corps.
Tom Paterson explained Using the remarkable Antelope PICO minicams on our Polecam rigs we were able to give the OB director shots and angles which until recently were rarely seen on football coverage. Terrific action from behind the goal-keeper with the cameras unobtrusively poking through the net gave a very effective wide shot which was perfect for covering goal-mouth action. This content could be streamed live or slowed right down so every moment could be analysed.
Camera cranes behind goals can often cause issues with blocking the view for the fans said Stuart Nicholls, but the unique low profile aspect of the Polecam setup means we can be right behind the goal getting these spectacular shots with minimal, if any, viewing disruption for the spectators.
Polecam Systems will be exhibiting at IBC 2016 on stand #10C 49, RAI Centre, Amsterdam, exhibition September 9-13.
The Antelope PICO Extreme Slow Motion and Live Camera System is designed to offer spectacular extreme slow motion and previously unrevealed details from vantage points where no other camera has gone before. Designed specifically with a super lightweight aluminium backend with military grade carbon fibre sections, the design is globally recognised as a market leading lightweight camera jib that is highly portable, quick to rig and operates either off battery or AC supply.
