Cobalt Digital's new 9902-UDX-DSP-CI Channel Integrator system represents a fusion of the wide range of broadcast-production features and benefits that Cobalt is known for - and that modern workflows require. The Cobalt team is encouraged by strong interest from the international broadcast community in the Channel Integrator system, and we've been looking forward to introducing it here at IBC2017.

The Channel Integrator is a 3G/HD/SD-SDI/CVBS up/down/cross-converter built for the openGear platform. It provides the signal-conversion and processing tool set required to conform incoming analog and digital audio and video signals along with associated metadata to meet sophisticated content- and channel-delivery requirements.

The units complement of signal inputs and outputs makes the Channel Integrator an ideal solution for companies needing to transition their workflows from analog video and/or audio to digital by using built-in A-to-D converters. Unequaled system-design flexibility comes from a 4 x 1 3G/HD/SD-SDI input router with RP168 clean switch support and a comprehensive set of communications protocols and interfaces.

On the audio side, the unit supports analog and AES audio embedding and de-embedding with multiple mixers and per-channel delay. The Channel Integrator creates an even sound floor that viewers will appreciate by combining tool sets including the Linear Acoustic UPMAX stereo-to-surround sound upmixing algorithm along with Dolby E/AC-3/E-AC-3 decoding/encoding and RTLL Real-Time Loudness Leveling. Applications include comprehensive broadcast-audio compliance, support for multiple foreign languages, and automatic audio conditioning for production environments.

Enhanced video processing includes broadcast-quality up/down/cross-conversion with noise reduction and detail enhancement. Optional standards conversion between 50 Hz- and 59.94/60 Hz-based video standards makes the 9902-UDX-DSP-CI perfect for rentals and international signal aggregators and distributors in the OTA, cable, DBS, and OTT markets. To maximize flexibility and add value to your investment, you can add a wide range of extra functionality in the field via licensable option upgrades - from logo, trouble slide, and key/fill insertion to frame-accurate SCTE 104 DPI message authoring.
