TAG V.S., the international specialist in advanced IP monitoring and high-quality UHD Multiviewers, has announced that its software only, IP-based, MCM-9000 UHD Multiviewer/Monitoring solution, is a finalist for an IABM BaM Award 2018 in the Support category. Award recipients are announced during IBC on Saturday, 15 September at 6.00 pm in The Forum at the RAI.

The IABM BaM awards, judged by an independent panel of experts, recognize outstanding technological innovations and serve as a vehicle for raising awareness of solutions that deliver real business and creative benefits.

TAG's MCM-9000 is a software only, all IP-based UHD Multiviewer and Monitoring system that is uniquely optimized to address the new SMPTE ST-2110 standard in HD and UHD. Support of multiple formats: compressed, uncompressed and OTT (HLS and MPEG-DASH), on the same platform enables the MCM-9000 to adapt to the changing needs of the user without having to change the equipment. And because the software and licenses remain the same as hardware is replaced, costs are minimized over the life span of the product.

The MCM-9000 features extremely low latency, under 2-frames, making it ideal for production and post production applications. It provides a complete monitoring solution for all the transmission layers of both uncompressed content and compressed MPEG-TS, starting from the TS packet header all the way down to the encoded video content and its quality.

The scalable solution runs on off-the-shelf hardware, making it easy to implement, and minimizes the overall cost of initial ownership. Everything the customer needs, including the Linux kernel, a bootable product image and license, is delivered in its entirety on a USB dongle.
