On the afternoon of Oct.13th, the pilot production program of intelligent environment function materials officially landed in Beilun District. It is a trilateral cooperation of the Institute of Urban Environment of CAS, Beilun government and Shenyang Xinsong Robert Automation Co., Ltd. It focuses on the materialization of the research result, building a replicable production line of the environment function materials and bringing the materials to the market along with the intelligent packaging in the service of enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta.
As the automobile industry develops robustly in Beilun, the need for tail gas treatment and other key technologies become stronger but not a few enterprises are reluctant to join pilot projects because of their long length, high expense and high risks.
This project is a combination of the research strength of the Institute of Urban Environment of CAS in fields like tail gas treatment, treatment of flue gas from stationary resources and indoor air purification and the manufacturing advantage of Xin Song Co., Ltd.'s Robert production. It aims at helping the related enterprises with their pilot projects, remarked one person responsible, and we plans to turn it into a sample project of materializing national research results in three to five years. The project consists of two parts; one is the pilot production line and the other is supporting laboratories expected to put into practice in May of 2017. No sooner than the program landed did one enterprise signed the contract with the platform in the same day.
The landing of the platform is only one of the great achievements Beilun has made in the technology and innovation field. Since 2015, Beilun has invited the innovation resources of CMST's China Center, Mei Shan Graduate School of Hohei University successively. Ningbo Institute of Industrial Technology, CAS channels efforts to the development of the manufacturing technology on organic material which is expected to realize industrialization in near future. Beilun also signed a contract withXian Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, CAS.
Beilun actively encourages an enterprise-centered collaborative innovation organization model of university-industry to promote the transformation of industrial chain. Based upon BeiFa Co., Ltd., a leading company in stationary industry, and with the help of Deli Group Co., Ltd, China Industrial Design Association and China Academy of Art and other associations, the project China Good Pen has yielded a number of key technological advancements on glue and raw materials of pens, to name a few. One of its products (pens)even appeared in 2016 G20 Summit meeting in Hangzhou and was sent as a present to all the leaders.
Science-based service innovation keeps progressing. In 2015, Beilun established the first demonstration area of introducing overseas intelligence to China. At the beginning of 2016, Beilun was the first district in Ningbo to invest 2 million yuan in promoting science and innovation development. New policies followed in Hackerspace and science and technology finance and other areas.
The responsible man also said, "the next step is to put forth efforts to lengthen the short staves in innovation of the science and technology development system and in the materializations of research results." New and high tech industry in Beilun realized an added value of 11.128 billion yuan in January to August in 2016, a 6.8% increase from the same period last year and an output value of 90.568 billion yuan, with a 6.7% increase from the same period from the last year, taking up 59.2% of output value of industrial enterprises above designated size.
