The NEW FinePix S8200 series of long zoom bridge cameras from FUJIFILM These all-in-one cameras are an excellent choice for any keen photographer looking for a step-up in their photography.
07.01.2013
FUJIFILM is proud to announce additions to its new bridge camera range for spring 2013. The FinePix S8200 and S8500 feature something for everyone.
1. Powerful optical zoom and powerful Optical Image Stabilisation
The new S series models both incorporate fast apertures of f/2.9 to f/6.5, plus powerful Lens shift OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) for excellent blur reduction. Their long zoom FUJINON lenses from 40x optical (S8200), to 46x optical (S8500), are renowned for their superb clarity. Featuring 17 elements in 12 groups, and combining aspherical and ED elements they help to reduce aberrations and promote a superior level of image quality. Both new bridge cameras feature a Super Macro mode enabling you to get as close as 1cm from your subject, bringing great close-up shots to life.
2. Fast autofocus, quick response and high image quality
These cameras both house 16 megapixel .3 inch BSI-CMOS sensors, which capture excellent quality, low-noise shots at sensitivities as high as ISO 12800. With autofocus speeds of 0.3 seconds*1, a start-up time of 1 second, a 0.5 second interval between shots and a continuous shooting speed of 10fps (max 10 frames @ full resolution), you'll never miss another shot. What's more, ultra-high speed shooting of up to 60fps (max 60 frames, image size 1280 960) and up to 120 fps (max 60 frames, image size 640 480), is also available enabling you to capture the action in slow-motion.
3. Full HD Video 1080i/60fps with stereo sound
Video recording is as easy as taking pictures, with a dedicated Video Button to start recording instantly. The high resolution, 1080i movie capture at 60fps with stereo sound and slow-motion capture at 480fps*2 is superb when played back on a HD-ready TV screen, and what's more, still photos can also be taken during video recording thanks to the ingenious, multi-tasking design. A number of advanced Video Editing features, such as Movie Trimming and Movie Join, allow you to edit in or out any part of the recorded footage and really get creative!
4. Built-in Electronic Viewfinder
Both new S series cameras come with built-in Electronic Viewfinders (EVFs). The benefits of having an EVF are that it makes framing subjects, checking focus, and checking white balance in bright daylight conditions much easier.
5. Advanced Photographic Support
Along with the S8200 and S8500 camera's easy grip surfaces, they feature a convenient secondary zoom control on the side of each camera's lens barrel, this gives you the option of adjusting the zoom with your left hand while pressing the shutter button with your right hand. For hassle-free photography the user can choose from three zoom speeds, or use the Auto Return Zoom control to reach high-magnification focal points. Additionally the cameras come with a Mode Dial to make changing shooting modes very simple.
6. Fun-filled feature set
Advanced filters allow you to indulge your artistic expression in-camera. The cameras allow users to choose from a variety artistic effects:
Pop colour - emphasises contrast and colour saturation
Toy camera - creates shaded borders as if you were taking a photo on a toy camera
Miniature effect - blurs the top and bottom of the frame for a diorama effect
Partial colour - retains one selected original colour and changes the rest of the photo to black and white. Colours can be selected from red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple
Cross screen (NEW) creates starbursts around bright objects
Soft Focus (NEW) blurring the focus of the image edges to create a softer effect
