Netflix Announces The Future Is Ours, a Dystopian Limited Series Starring Enzo Vogrincic, Emiliano Zurita, Delfina Chaves, Marleyda Soto and Marco Antonio Caponi

Image here Photo credits: Alan Roskyn | Netflix Today, Netflix announced the production of The Future is Ours, bringing together a talented team from Latin America, both in front of and behind the camera. A dystopian proposal, based on the novel The World Jones Made, by the renowned American writer Philip K. Dick. The series will be the first audiovisual adaptation of the authors work in Spanish. With director and screenwriter Mateo Gil (Pedro P ramo, The Minions of Midas) as showrunner, the series will be directed by Brazilian directors Vicente Amorim (Senna) and Daniel Rezende (The Son of A Thousand Men), and Argentine Jes s Braceras (Barrabrava). It will be produced by K&S Films (The Eternaut) and Electric Shepherd Productions (The Man in the High Castle), the production arm of the Philip K Dick estate.

Without a doubt, the challenge is immense, but we are proud to tell a story that will show Latin America as a force of resistance in the new order. It will be an unprecedented production of the highest ambition in Latin America, that will demonstrate that these types of stories can also be told from our countries, in Spanish and with exceptional quality," says Francisco Ramos, Vice President of Content for Latin America at Netflix.

Mateos adaptation of the novel is inventive and bold while retaining the essence of the original. I have long believed that the rich culture and incredible talent in Latin America provide an extraordinary setting for this sort of ambitious project, and the passion expressed by the entire team is truly inspiring," says Isa Dick Hackett, Executive Producer and the author's daughter.
To carry out The Future Is Ours, some of the most renowned Latin American technicians and artists have been brought together, including: cinematographers Adri n Teijido (I'm Still Here), Luis Sansans (Narcos, Narcos M xico); production designer Carlos Y Jacques (Pedro P ramo); art director Juli n Romera (The Eternaut); producers Micky Buye, Mat as Mosteir n, Diego Copello, Emiliano Torres and Anal a Castro (responsible for The Eternaut, among other Argentine productions), with Isa Dick Hackett, the authors daughter and Executive Producer. And with a team of screenwriters, led by Mateo Gil with Laura Santullo, Camila Brug s G mez (One Hundred Years of Solitude), and Kyzza Terrazas. All of them, along with an ensemble of actors and actresses from Latin America headed by Enzo Vogrincic (Society of the Snow), Emiliano Zurita (No One Saw Us Leave), Delfina Chaves (M xima), Marleyda Soto (One Hundred Years of Solitude), and Marco Antonio Caponi (Yosi, the Regretful Spy), among many others, will bring this story to life.
About The Future Is Ours: Year 2047. Ecological collapse has led to the creation of FedSur, a coalition of South American countries that applies extreme measures to protect nature and counteract the prevailing hunger and violence.
A new and captivating voice then emerges on the internet, a voice much more powerful than any other because it is capable of predicting the future. Police officer Hugo Cruss discovers that behind the voice is a young preacher named Jon s Flores, but his arrest causes him to become the spiritual leader of the continent overnight.
Forecasting the fall of FedSur and victory over climate change, Jon s will make the Latin American people dream and will get many to join his reactionary revolution. Meanwhile, Cruss , pursued as a member of the resistance, will embark on a suicidal mission to end the tyrant, who will have foreseen the assassination and will be waiting for him.
