GoPro Hosts SoCal Premiere of All-Female Snow Film, Full Moon

As September gives way to October in the Northern Hemisphere, the snow begins to tease impassioned snowboarders from coast to coast. From news of light dustings of snowfall in resort towns to social posts from professional athletes as they chase the freshies around the world, it is hard to ignore the mountains calling. This pre-season excitement is usually amplified by film projects from the industrys best, and this year we can thank Leanne Pelosi and the best female snowboarders in the world for fueling the growing fire. Across the US and Canada, a two-year project called Full Moon is premiering in front of excited audiences.

Helmed by Director and Producer Leanne Pelosi of Runway Films, Full Moon thematically tackles the past, present, and future of womens snowboarding. Pelosi, a force in snowboarding herself, is both paying tribute to the history of womens snowboarding and showcasing the evolution and progression of the sport today. Featuring both legends that paved the way and current atheltes at the top of their game, inlcuding GoPro Athletes Jamie Anderson and Elena Hight, Full Moon is a tour de force and a big step for womens snowboardng and the sport as a whole.

After debuting the film in Whistler a few weeks ago, the Full Moon crew descended upon the GoPro Carlsbad Campus last week and were welcomed by an ecstatic SoCal crowd in the outdoor amphitheater. A few hundred folks came to watch the film under the North San Diego County stars, as well as have a few tacos and drinks.

My goal is to bring this amazing group of women, who happen to be the very best handful of women in the world in the backcountry, and have them tell their stories of who inspire them. I want to showcase that we are all connected at an arms reach, and there is a reason why we should see where we came from and on to where we are headed. Its vital to keep the true story of snowboarding alive through visuals like interviews and real video documentation.
