WO Traffic and WO Automation for Radio Provide a Best-of-Breed Solution for a New State-of-the-Art Public Radio Broadcast Facility San Francisco, September 19, 2013-WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies, is pleased to announce that Towson University's public radio station WTMD has selected WO Traffic, the company's leading sales, traffic and billing system, and WO Automation for Radio, the company's modern and powerful radio automation system, for its new facility in suburban Baltimore, Maryland.
Towson University has built a new, showcase facility at Towson City Center for its award-winning radio station WTMD. WTMD is a nationally recognized, non-commercial, adult album alternative, formatted radio station that reaches tens of thousands of listeners each week in the central Maryland region. At the heart of culture and activity for both the university and the community, the new 8,000-square-foot operation features a live performance space, a community meeting room, a classroom, an electronic, outdoor, scrolling news board, and four studios outfitted with cutting-edge technologies. Determined to install a best-of-breed traffic and automation system, WTMD selected WideOrbit's WO Traffic and WO Automation for Radio, after an extensive evaluation, due largely to the unique, real-time integration that the two products deliver.
WO Traffic manages underwriting inventory and traffic operations for public broadcasters including sponsor placement, inventory management, accounting, invoicing, payments, reconciliation and reporting. WO Automation for Radio is a robust automation system that offers an easy-to-use interface that can be personalized, centralized content creation, centralized playlist creation and editing, multimarket voice tracking and intuitive, robust search capabilities. In addition, WO Automation for Radio provides advanced interfaces to customary systems and equipment including music schedulers, routers, EAS equipment and audio consoles, plus enhanced integrations to MusicMaster's music scheduling system and Axia Audio broadcast consoles, which have been selected by WTMD for the new facility. Seamless integration between WO Automation for Radio and WO Traffic delivers numerous efficiencies to broadcasters that include live log editing, streamlined dubbing commercials and underwriting, and real-time spot reconciliation.
