Eat in for under R200: Best grocery specials at South Africa's supermarkets

Coleslaw salad was marked down from R17.99 to R12.99, and no taco dish would be complete without good ol guac. You have the option of plain smashed avo, or avo smashed with coriander, chilli and lime for only R23.99.

For salsa, either go with the mild and chunky, or medium peppadew, both for R25.99. Don't forget to add the proteins: R64.99 for 500g's of pulled pork shoulder, or pulled beef shin.

Spar Chicken in Orange Chutney Sauce

Just add chicken pieces, spice, chutney and mayonnaise to your trolley for this easy-to-prepare meal. Recipe from Spar's website:

Ingredients

1,25kg SPAR chicken braai pack or pieces

5ml SPAR chicken spice

250ml SPAR orange juice

250ml SPAR chutney

125ml SPAR mayonnaise

15ml SPAR wheat cake flour

Method Preheat the oven to 180 C. Arrange the chicken pieces in a shallow ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with chicken spice.

Combine the orange juice, chutney, mayonnaise and cake flour. Pour over the chicken and bake uncovered for about 45 minutes or until nicely browned and cooked through.

Serve with a simple garden salad and a few Fresh SPAR Freshline rolls.
