Boston Conservatory at Berklee to Present Center Stage Production of Jesus Christ Superstar Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's acclaimed musical will run September 26 to 29 at Boston Conservatory Theater.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee's Center Stage series will open its fall season with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's beloved and globally acclaimed musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Performances will run from September 26 through 29 at Boston Conservatory Theater.

The first musical by Lloyd Webber and Rice to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for more than 50 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known story of Jesus Christ's final days, but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

Boston Conservatory's production of Jesus Christ Superstar will be directed by Front Porch Arts Collective coproducing artistic director Dawn M. Simmons, a Boston theater luminary who is executive director of StageSource, coartistic director of New Exhibition Room, and a founding member of the Small Theatre Alliance Boston. Berklee College of Music Associate Professor David Freeman Coleman will serve as music director for the production.

It is a joy and an absolute honor working with the Conservatory's tremendous musical theater students on Jesus Christ Superstar, said Coleman. Almost 53 years since its original Broadway debut, the music and themes of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's production resonate just as much today. One of the first musicals to originate the rock opera genre, Jesus Christ Superstar will be a joyous time for audiences of all ages.

Jesus Christ Superstar will be presented at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, September 26 through Saturday, September 28, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. Tickets are $25 to $30 for regular seating and $16.00 to $21.00 for senior citizens, WGBH members, and non-Berklee students. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
