British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has officially broken the record for most Spotify followers. The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker's 100 million followers puts him in front of Grammy winners Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber and Canadian rapper Drake.

SPOTIFY GIFTS ED SHEERAN A T-SHIRT FOR REACHING 100M FOLLOWERS Taking to Twitter on Tuesday 26 July, streaming giant Spotify congratulated Ed Sheeran for reaching 100 million followers on their app.
Spotify gifted the 31-year-old a t-shirt for the extraordinary achievement. Ed Sheeran flaunted his gift to the tour staff around his performance venue in Europe but sadly for him, no one seemed interested

ED SHEERAN'S OTHER SPOTIFY RECORDS Ed Sheeran has a long list of Spotify records for his chart-topping singles. According to Culturess, in 2021, Sheeran scored the most-streamed song on Spotify for his single, Shape of You.
The track has surpassed 3 billion streams and it seems no other artist has achieved the milestone. The Weeknd's global hit Blinding Lights came close with 2.6 billion streams. The track did mark the Canadian's fifth number one single.
In 2015, Ed Sheran's Thinking Out Loud became the first song ever to reach 500 million streams on Spotify.

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS The nominees for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) were announced on Tuesday 26 July and Ed Sheeran scored five nominations.
Besides being up for the Artist of the Year Award, Sheeran is up for Video of the Year for Shivers, from his fifth studio album, = (Equals). The likes of Doja Cat, Drake, Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift are also up for the award.
Shivers is also up for the Best Pop Award alongside Lizzo, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Billie Eilish.
