Apogee Quartet Wins TEC Award Best Hardware/Peripheral for Smartphones & Tablets February 28, 2014/in Blog, News /by Santa Monica, California, February 27, 2014 - Apogee Electronics, an industry leader in digital audio recording for over 25 years, is honored to have won the TEC award for Quartet in the category of Hardware/Peripherals for Smartphones & Tablets. Apogee's Quartet, a 4 IN x 8 OUT audio interface and studio control center, was the first pro quality multi-channel audio interface to offer direct digital connectivity to Apple's iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch in addition to Mac.
Quartet and all of our iOS/Mac compatible products are designed to deliver professional audio recording to iPad and iOS devices, so it is very flattering and validating to receive this award, says Apogee's Director of Marketing, Sean McArthur. We believe in the power of iPad to inspire creative people with a more intuitive and tactile way to interact with technology, and our best-in-class audio interfaces provide the key to unlocking this power.
Quartet delivers key features that bring truly professional multi-channel audio recording capabilities to iPad. Apogee's Maestro software for iOS lets you control Quartet's inputs, mic preamps, outputs and set up low latency monitoring. Quartet's DC power charges iPad while in use so recording is not interrupted. Quartet provides plenty of power for studio headphones, microphones and MIDI keyboards. In addition, Quartet accepts and provides professional audio line levels (ie. balanced, +4 dBu reference level) allowing it to be easily integrated with other pro audio equipment. Quartet is the ideal centerpiece for multi-channel music recording and mixing on any Apple device.
