Production Minds has added a powerful new scheduling module to its PMP pre-production management platform. Allowing multiple assistant directors and production managers to work in parallel, PMP's new Shooting Schedules module combines all the production data into the schedule, making it more intuitive and quicker to manage scheduling than ever before.
The Shooting Schedules module extends PMP's unrivalled ability to gather all the production information and make it available as a central, organized and authoritative resource, with real-time ripple-through updates when changes are made. Crew members can use Shooting Schedules to precisely organize shooting days based on all the information collected in PMP during pre-production - including casting decisions, location choices, department and equipment requirements, and all other relevant data. PMP makes it easy to prepare alternative versions of the schedule, discover timing conflicts, keep sight of upcoming tasks, and ensure that the entire crew is on the same page.
PMP was already the most coherent and potent tool for pre-production management, and the new Shooting Schedules module brings everything together even more efficiently, said location manager Peter Fulop, (Die Hard 5, World War Z). Everything I've done so far with PMP makes even more sense now, because all the diverse information collected along the way now shows up on my call sheets.
Based in a secure cloud and accessible through current web browsers, PMP is the only fully-integrated pre-production solution allowing multi-user, multi-location collaboration with interlinking of all data, automatic updating of linked areas when changes are made, and automatic notifications for affected crew members.
By keeping all data in a centralized resource, PMP makes it unnecessary to enter any piece of information more than once, or send documents by email and risk crew members referring to outdated information - a recurring problem of the filmmaking community.
Crew members can contribute data from their own department - such as casting, locations, equipment inventories - while PMP makes it easily discoverable to all who need it, and automatically links it to the shooting days. For high-level creatives and management, PMP provides a 360-degree overview that gives an unprecedented decision-making capability.
Scheduling adds the extra muscle to turn PMP into a true one-stop pre-production tool, with no equal out there said G bor Kertai, CTO of Production Minds. A lot of the information inherent to film production is difficult to manage together, like casting videos and photos, actors' contact details, wardrobe sizes, and so on. PMP keeps all this data interconnected and searchable, so busy crew members dont have to waste time digging through various folders and documents to find it all.
Scheduling is now available to all subscribing PMP users, and for free in a limited trial version from http://www.productionminds.com
