Yinzhou Charity Federation Alleviates Poverty rough Entrepreneurship Training

Recently, several poverty-stricken families in Hounanling Village, Jiangshan Town, Yinzhou have received some vegetables and subsidy donated by Jiangshan Town Shangshuyuan Ecofriendly Charity Base for Poverty Alleviation. The responsible man of the base, Ke Hanqiang said he used to be one of the beneficiaries of Yinzhou Charity Confederation, and now he was glad to help other people in need.

Yinzhou Charity Confederation, Yinzhou District Federation of Trade Unions and Yinzhou District Bureau of Agriculture and Forestry have put forth and operated a project of Poverty Alleviation through Entrepreneurshipsince 2005. The project lays out a successful approach to poverty alleviation by sponsoring beneficiaries of outstanding skills to set up charity base for poverty alleviation so as to help more poverty-stricken people.

KeHanqiang once suffered a great loss and becameheavily indebted due to the typhoon calamity. Thanks to the project, he received a subsidy of 10,000 yuan and rejuvenated his company, whichwas then developed into a regional charity base under the guidance ofYinzhou Charity Confederation and KeHanqiang was appointed the responsible man. The charity base has helped 28 poverty-stricken families through direct subsidies,sharing seeds and techniques,providing selling assistance and offering jobs.

CaiYongxiang who has long been a beneficiary of Yinzhou Charity Confederation is the owner of Yunlong Town Laocai Fruit Base, which is also a charity base for poverty alleviation. Since its establishment 4 years ago, the charity base has helped 32 peasant households by providing them with fertilizers, pesticide, and seedlings, worth millions annually and with regular farming training programs. Adopting a production model base + farmer , the charity base makes the unified plan and assumes the role of managing, purchasing and selling while each peasant household works separately under the leadership of the base. The annual revenue of the beneficiaries has risen by 5,000 to 16,000 yuan. CaiYongxiang also sends vegetables and fruit to the nursing home in Yinzhou District every Spring Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival. He also visited nursing homes in Zhoushan, Shaoxing, Huzhou and Jiaxing and brought the elders melons and grapes which added up to over 13,000 kilograms and 150,000 yuan.

Since 2005, the project of Poverty Alleviation through Entrepreneurship has actively encouraged the families concerned to set up their own businesses or join the crop and livestock farming, or food processing industry. Up to now, subsidies, amounting to around 11.31 millionyuan have given to households concerned; 319 of them have been lifted out of poverty. Especially 17 beneficiaries with outstanding skills have set up charity bases for poverty alleviation with the help of the charity confederation and other organizations. The 17 bases have helped 315 poverty-stricken families.
