Actor Thembinkosi Mthembu, who played Mabutho in The River is grateful to land the role of Bonga on Showmax's show Adulting.

ACTOR THEMBINKOSI MTHEMBU IN ADULTING' The popular actor Thembinkosi Mthembu tells Drum that his Adulting character Bonga is living soft compared to his role Mabutho in The River.

Mthembu adds that playing Bonga was awesome as he's got a great bond with his long-time friends and he is a family man. He adds that Adulting viewers will love him, and others will hate him.

Being a family man is probably the only thing I can relate to him about because he is living so soft. But one thing is for sure, viewers are going to see a different side to me. They are going to see a more fun side to me. is living such a soft life.

The show is for grown and sexy folks an eight-part drama that follows the lives of four friends as they navigate their lives and it is 18SN rated.

Dubbed the bromance of the decade', Adulting premieres on 20 March.

PLAYING MABUTHO IN THE RIVER' According to Drum, the Adulting actor Thembinkosi Mthembu's previous character in the Emmy-nominated telenovela The River was a very burdened man.

Mabutho was just a man trying to stay out of trouble, do the right thing, and be able to provide for his family, reveals Drum.

Viewers of his fan-favourite character Mabutho were rooting for him to get his happily-ever-after with Nomonde Dikana (Linda Mtoba) but tragedy struck and he lost it all.

He almost killed his father-in-law Zweli Dikana after he found out he was behind the heists and ended up killing Zolani (Lawrence Maleka) when he was chased by Lindiwe.

In the end, Mabutho got saved by Zweli (Hlomla Dandala) and fled before Lindiwe (Sindi Dlathu) could finish him off.
