British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) ha desplegado en sus instalaciones en Chalfont (Reino Unido) la plataforma de monitorizaci n y control Cerebrum de Axon. Filial de Services Sound and Vision Corporation (SSVC), una organizaci n ben fica sin nimo de lucro encargada de proporcionar entretenimiento e informaci n al personal de las Fuerzas Armadas brit nicas en todo el mundo, BFBS ofrece lo mejor de la televisi n y la radio del Reino Unido durante todo el d a, distribuyendo contenidos de cuarenta canales de televisi n a trav s de sat lite y online a una audiencia de 25.000 profesionales de la Defensa desplegados en numerosos pa ses y buques de Royal Navy en el mar.
BFBS cuenta con un sistema de extremo a extremo que incluye la ingesta, producci n y playout. Tambi n gestiona todas las tarjetas de descodificaci n de la plataforma y produce un canal propio de informaci n, Forces TV.
Con la adjudicaci n de un nuevo contrato de diez a os por el Ministerio de Defensa en 2013, BFBS emprendi un ambicioso plan de modernizaci n de sus instalaciones de emisi n que contaban ya con diez a os pasando de un entorno anal gico a digital. Trabajando en estrecha colaboraci n con el integrador brit nico dB Broadcast BFBS ha renovado sus sistemas pasando de un flujo de trabajo de cinta y archivo a una nueva operaci n simplificada totalmente basada en ficheros.
Hunter Adair, al frente de los servicios t cnicos de BFBS, reconoce que nuestro flujo de trabajo es diferente a cualquier otro broadcaster debido a operaci n nica. BFBS gira en torno a cientos de horas de contenido cada semana ingestados a partir de m s de 40 canales de televisi n del Reino Unido. A continuaci n, se edita y programa este extraordinario volumen de contenido con una respuesta muy r pida utilizando s lo un peque o equipo de personal con talento. Nuestro reto es siempre la de hacer m s con menos y optimizar nuestros recursos con m ltiples habilidades, por lo que la virtualizaci n nos ha permitido movernos a un flujo de trabajo con un operador y mejorar la eficiencia .
Workflow
El flujo de trabajo definido y desplegado por dB Broadcast cuenta con channel-in-a-box SAM ICE con la automatizaci n Morpheus, un sistema de tr fico de Provys, una soluci n Curator Media Asset Management de IPV basado en el hardware de Cisco, procesamiento de se al de Axon Synapse, grabaci n e ingesta masiva de Arbor y almacenamiento de NetApp.
Dise ado como un sistema para monitoreo y de control personalizable, la plataforma Cerebrum de Axon permite trabajar con cualquier equipo compatible con SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) o protocolos de terceros. El sistema es compatible con una amplia gama de dispositivos, incluyendo routers, mezcladores de producci n, servidores, consolas de audio, unidades de control de c mara, multipantallas, monitores de forma de onda con una amplia gama de funciones que simplifica el control de dispositivos m ltiples en una nica interfaz personalizada.
