Beilun Equipment Manufacturing Industry Sprouts up

Beilun is home to the most automated factory of Geely Automobile, including Borui and other premium products. Beilun became a leader in cold-chain industry soon after Taigu Cold-chain Logistics Company with the largest cold chain projects came on stream. Since the beginning of 2015, the industrial hub has risen up amid sliding port industries. Its equipment manufacturing industries and special emerging industries have sprung up, registering 145.46 billion yuan in total industrial output value, a 10.95% increase year-on-year. Such a boom has made the industries top in scale citywide.

Port-vicinity industries such as steel and petrochemical were once a strong underpinner for Beilun's industry. Having said that, the output of the industries has been on the marked decline amid growing downward pressure on the economy. For that matter, Beilun seizes upon the opportunities arising from Made in China 2025 to focus on making smart injection molding machines, commercializing numerical control machine tool and robots, introducing premium automobiles and their parts, expanding the international interest in top-notch mold, taking differentiated approaches to electric appliances and machines, and developing large-scale marine equipment. The goal is building stronger capacity of manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, the district is going to nominate 2015 China Demonstration Base of New Industrialized Sectors as it is equipped with a small port equipment industry base, a big port hi-tech industrial base, among others.

During the Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium held in mid June, AODEVICES electronics group co., ltd. and R&D Park for Smart Automobiles from Tsinghua University joined Beilun. The Ministry of Industrialization and Information Technology has recently approved of the application of demonstration project by Haitian Plastics Machinery Group Co., Ltd on the smart manufacturing project on injection-molding plastics into established equipment. Ningbo Klite Electric Manufacture Company is nominating Ningbo demonstration project of automated full set of equipment for its LED. After Geely Chunxiao Factory was put into production, Beilun's auto part industry has been driven up with the rise of some listed companies. The value of automobile industry rose by 29.11% year-on-year in the first half of 2015.

Similar financials, cold chain, navigation, among other emerging industries prop up in full swing. From January to June 2015, the district has leveraged on foreign capital of 360 million US dollars, an increase of 16.5% from the same period of last year. This has laid a solid foundation for Ningbo trade. Goods sales and non-profit services have become strong drivers for GDP.

According to statistics, while making structural adjustments, Beilun maintains a sound economic performance. In the first half of 2015, the district posted 97% in sales-output ratio. Businesses above the state-designated scale accounted for half of profit tax increase. Haiyue and Doujiang new production projects have been on the increase gradually.
