All you need to know about the Nuz Queen v Busiswa gqom saga

Nuz Queen is a South African artist that is rising quickly to stardom. However, she has recently been embroiled in a copyright quarrel with Busiswa, a staple brand in the Gqom genre.

On the song Gagashe II, Busiswa charged Nuz with stealing the song that's become a hit, Laze Lavuka iDemoni Lam.

In one of the lines, Busiswa can be heard throwing shots at the up-and-coming musician:

Calling yourself a queen what you is, is a trick

This sent social media into a frenzy, with fans turning against the rising star. It is no secret that theft of copyright material is something that is shunned upon heavily in the industry.

Nuz Queen addresses copyright theft rumours However, for the first time, Nuz has come out to address the allegations. In an interview on Metro FM,

In Gqom we use similar materials. We all use Fruity Loops. I did a beat, I'm a producer. I produced the song then I saw on social media that there was a song and that it was already done, Nuza explained.

This did not corroborate with Ed Harris version of events, who claim that they released their song long before Nuz and that she did, in fact, steal their work.

Nuz disagrees, she claims to have contacted Eh Harris to make them aware of the song she had produced, that was similar to that of theirs.

According to Nuz, she had produced the song in February of this year but held off from releasing it because she felt that it was not complete yet.

She clearly felt offended by Busiswa chiming in on a situation that, according to her, she had no knowledge about.

Honey, you should think again because you know you survive on leftovers, starting from iGobisiqolo with that boy Biiza, okay? You ain't an artist to me honey but I'm coming for you, you should know that, she warned.
