MIKI REDELINGHUYS likes telling stories with a camera. Humanity interests, inspires and often disappoints her. Shes been making documentaries for a while and keeps threatening to stop and become a small-scale farmer instead. But then another story enters her life. Her documentary, This Land (2017), deals with land dispossession and structural inequality in rural South Africa was commissioned by the Land and Accountablity Research Centre and produced by Plexus Films. The film has screened in rural South Africa as part of a series of dialogues, supported by Nelson Mandela Foundation and Bertha Foundation and in partnership with Sunshine Cinema. She served on the DFA board at its inception, which she chaired between 2007 and 2009, where she initiated events like DOCLOVE and the My Town short documentary competition. She is committed to developing the documentary industry, and sharing ideas with fellow story-tellers. She has compiled Marketing and distribution panel to represent a broad spectrum of ways in which to reach audiences and will be facilitating the panel discussion.
