Network Nine selects inflo for ASR Transcription integration with Avid

(Sydney, Australia, 29 September 2025) Techtel, the creator of inflo , today announced that Network Nine has selected inflo to deliver an Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) transcription service for news content within its Avid production system.

The decision to select inflo follows an extensive technology proof of concept where Techtel collaborated closely with Nine and Avid to ensure a seamless integration. The result, a transcription workflow that meets Nine's requirements without requiring their journalists to learn any new tools or processes.

inflo connects to Nine's Avid environment via a RESTful API known as the Connectivity Toolkit Media Services (CTMS) that reaches deep into the system to locate and extract audio from clips designated for transcription. Importantly, inflo only accesses audio from clips earmarked for ASR, minimising any additional load on their production system.

The integration leverages inflo's advanced ASR engine to provide an on-premise and unmetered transcription service. Using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI), inflo delivers impressive transcription accuracy, making automated transcription a compelling alternative for many organisations who previously relied on manual labour-based transcription.
