WarnerMedia EMEA Names Peter Schauerte To Lead Local Theatrical Production for GAS (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) Region

Schauerte expands remit as part of WarnerMedia GAS leadership team

January 13, 2021 - Iris Knobloch, Country Manager for WarnerMedia France & Benelux and Germany/Austria/Switzerland (GAS), today announced that Peter Schauerte, recently appointed to lead the GAS Home Entertainment and Consumer Products business, will now also oversee Local Theatrical Production in the GAS region.

Schauerte's expanded remit as part of Knobloch's GAS leadership team follows the announcement that Willi Geike has decided to step down later this month after a 38-year career at the company.

Schauerte takes on a thriving local theatrical production pipeline, encompassing a diverse range of drama, comedy and family entertainment, and comprising an average of 10 or more titles a year, which are brought to the screen through the combined talents of Magdalena Prosteder, Dirk Engelhardt, Jacqueline Jagow, and Stefan Vochezer, and the creative partners they work with across the region.

Schauerte's colleagues on Knobloch's GAS leadership team include previously announced executives Steffen Schier (Theatrical Distribution), Sylvia Rothblum (TV Distribution), Matthias Heinze (Affiliates & Ad Sales) and Tim van Dyk (Marketing), uniting the company's entertainment networks with its Warner Bros. activities as part of a one WarnerMedia approach across the region.

About Peter Schauerte

Peter Schauerte most recently served for more than six years as CFO & SVP Finance for Warner Bros. Germany (as well as Austria and Switzerland) where, as a member of the German senior management team, he played an integral role assessing strategic business decisions and initiatives for growth, new business opportunities and the changing complexion of the entertainment portfolio and distribution channels, and oversaw digital innovation and data strategy. He added the role of General Manager, Poland (Theatrical & Consumer Products) for Warner Bros. to his remit in 2019, until WarnerMedia reorganised its EMEA operations towards the end of last year.

Throughout his nearly 20 years at Warner Bros., he has held a number of finance and operational roles and has been actively involved in the Warner Bros. Germany local production business since 2002.

Schauerte is a member of the boards of the film distributor association and the video distributor association.

Prior to his tenure at Warner Bros., Schauerte worked in several finance and project management functions for General Electric in the Capital and Power Controls divisions. He holds a degree in business economics from Georg-August-University in G ttingen.
