When the 43rd Annual Sports Emmy Award nominations were unveiled today, ESPN led all network groups with 62 nods, followed by CBS Sports (33), NBC Sports (30), Fox Sports (26), Turner Sports (24), NFL Network (23), and HBO (18). The 12 nominations for NFL Network's NFL 360 are the most of any single program, trailed closely by NBC's coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) will announce the winners at an in-person ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on May 24.
Nominations were announced in 47 categories, including Outstanding Live Special, Live Series and Playoff Coverage, along with Outstanding Technical Team Remote and Technical Team Studio, and the George Wensel Technical Achievement Award.
Also garnering multiple nominations are Netflix with six; Red Bull TV, Twitch, and YouTube TV with five each; MLB Network and Univision with four; UFC Fight Pass and NBA Social with three; and Facebook and Outside TV with two. ESPN led all individual networks with 40 nominations, followed by CBS (27); Fox and NFL Network (22 each); NBC (20); HBO, HBO Max, and TNT (18 each); FS1 (16); ABC and ESPN (12 each), and ESPN Deportes (10).
As for nominations by program, NFL 360 (12) and the Tokyo Olympics (10) were followed by ESPN's E:60 and HBO's Hard Knocks with five; CBS's NFL Today, NHL on ESPN and HBO's Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel with four apiece; and another 10 programs with three nods each.
