Wilder, tougher and more extreme than ever
Alone Australia is back for an epic record-breaking third season
Wednesday 26 March on SBS and SBS On Demand
Smash-hit survival series Alone Australia is back with its most daring season yet. Premiering with a double episode on Wednesday 26 March at 7.30pm on SBS and SBS On Demand, Alone Australia Season 3 returns to home soil across twelve gripping episodes. Dropped into the unpredictable and unforgiving wilds of the West Coast Ranges of Tasmania (Lutruwita), ten new trailblazing survivalists will push themselves to the limit, alone, totally isolated and with zero contact from the outside world. Battling the elements, they are forced to adapt to the wild will of nature, all in the hopes of being the last one standing and winning a life-changing prize of $250,000.
Alone Australia Season 3 is supersized in every way; the characters are bold, the competition fierce, the bushcraft masterful and the kill counts extraordinary. Prepare for surprises at every turn as our participants face each challenge with unparalleled grit and remarkable ingenuity.
Alone Australia is the ultimate test of endurance, with only three ways to exit: voluntary tap out, medical extraction or as the winner. With no camera crew, each participant must document their own survival through a brutal winter as they fight to stay warm, dry, fed and alive for as long as they can. Bringing to the wild 10 individually selected items, it is up to each participant to navigate the unrelenting cold and wet of Tasmania's West Coast Ranges. But the true challenge of Alone isn't just physical - it's mental. With only their thoughts for company, the participants' emotional resilience will be tested like never before. No shelter, fishing catch or successful trap can eclipse the loneliness and isolation; our participants aren't just competing against each other - but themselves.
This is a season of firsts. Five women set a milestone as the first to bring equal gender representation to the cast. One participant becomes the first to grab the title of the oldest player in the series' history. Expect first-of-a kind hunting, fishing and trapping skills, and watch shelter builds and bushcraft be redefined to remarkable new extremes. Witness dramatic wildlife encounters and brace for completely unchartered, perilous hazards.
You've never seen Alone Australia like this. Records will be broken. Limits will be shattered. And the full force of nature unleashes its power. More than a survival experiment, Alone Australia is about self-reliance, courage, and adaptation. It challenges the norms' of society, reminding us of the primal connection between humanity and the natural world, and highlighting the wealth of learning there is to be had from First Nations relationships with Country. It celebrates ingenuity, resilience, and the human spirit while answering one of the ultimate existential questions: How long can a person truly survive-completely and utterly ALONE?
SBS Head Of Unscripted Joseph Maxwell said: The resilience of the 10 participants is extraordinary. Their unfiltered, raw stories are filled with surprise, insight and drama. Alone Australia S3 is gripping TV.
ITV Studios Australia's Chief Content Officer, Beth Hart, said: This season of Alone Australia is the most addictive yet. Set in a stunning but unforgiving new location, records will be broken, human limits will be forced into uncharted territory and just when you think you know what's coming, this phenomenal cast turns everything on its head. For the first time, we have equal numbers of men and women and the innovation on show will leave you in awe. ITV Studios Australia are incredibly proud of this thrilling third series, it's unmissable television.
Alex Sangston, Manager, Screen Tasmania, said: Alone Australia is an incredible series, and Screen Tasmania is proud to host the production of season 3. This is the first project to receive our new Island Screen Incentive and is the perfect way to launch this new industry support. Our landscapes, lifestyle, production crews and the stories of our island are waiting to be further discovered, and we're delighted to have ITV Studios and SBS back on our shores to do exactly that. We're particularly excited by the production's engagement with Palawa cultural practice and stories; audiences around the world are going to learn a great deal about our first people and the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community.
BEN, 38
English Teacher, SA
First look at Ben here
Hailing from a small town in South Australia, this country-born English teacher and bush poet has a knack for words-and a commitment to weekend bush skills practice that borders on obsession. A Christian, dedicated husband, and proud father of three (including a set of twins), Ben juggles family life, teaching, and community involvement with big energy and admirable enthusiasm. A former A-Grade SANFL footballer, with 227 games under his belt, Ben continues to be involved with his local team. His athletic body and competitive mindset give him the stamina, strength, and resilience needed to tackle any challenge and he's counting on them, as well as his faith, for a competitive edge going into this experience.
Well-versed in his local bushlands, Ben is practiced in both live and deadfall trapping techniques and has extensive experience foraging for native plants such as saltbush, wild lettuce, prickly pear, and quandong. For Ben, the Alone challenge represents the ultimate outdoor experience-a true test of his skills and endurance. While the kudos of a win serves as good incentive, his deeper motivation is clear; a win is not just for him, but for the greater good of his family.
