The ART DIRECTORS GUILD (ADG, IATSE Local 800) and its Scenic, Title and Graphic Artist Council will be honored by the LA City Council with a resolution presented by Councilmember Paul Krekorian recognizing this Friday, Feb. 24, as Scenic Arts Day in Los Angeles. This distinguished honor spotlights the artists behind the meticulously rendered, hand painted scenic backdrops that have created worlds of imagination in almost every feature film of Hollywood's golden age. This accolade celebrates ADG's collaboration on the new book THE ART OF THE HOLLYWOOD BACKDROP and with JC Backings on the original MGM Scenic Art Studio (now Sony Studios) where most of these gigantic backdrops are preserved.

Accepting the proclamation on behalf of the ADG are Guild representatives including Executive Director CHUCK PARKER, Associate Exec. Dir. dooner, and Scenic Title and Graphic Artists Council Chair PATRICK DEGREVE.
