Autodesk Exchange Apps, a web-based design and engineering app store created for the Autodesk community, celebrates its one-millionth app milestone this week with a customer download of the coolOrange threadModeler for Autodesk Inventor. In three years since launching, the site has published 1,800 apps from third-party developers, which are available for download in 14 different languages and in 191 countries. The online platform provides designers and engineers with a centralized location to access apps that advance efficiency and productivity while using Autodesk software, and makes it easy for app developers to reach Autodesk customers worldwide.
Weve built our software partner network from the ground up to continually bring the Autodesk community convenient access to innovative new tools, and also give third-party developers the support they need, said Jim Quanci, Senior Director, Autodesk Developer Network. Were thrilled to reach our millionth download and plan to continue adding great apps that offer value to hundreds of thousands of Autodesk customers.
Autodesk Exchange Apps features a diverse range of 1,800 free, trial and paid apps created for use with Autodesk software across several industries, from AEC and Infrastructure to Manufacturing, Film, TV and Games. Autodesk carefully reviews and tests every app to ensure it meets quality, usability and security standards. Apps vary in price from $0-$3,000 and can be accessed through an Exchange Apps icon in Autodesk desktop products or via the Exchange Apps site.
Autodesk Fusion 360 customer Predator Cycling recently reimagined the way it designs and builds custom bikes, turning to Exchange Apps to obtain an automated flattening plug-in to simplify the process. Company President Aram Goganian shared, When we uncovered Tri-D Technologies ExactFlat Cloud-based plug-in for Fusion 360 on the site, the decision to use the tools together was a no-brainer. With Exchange Apps, were able to quickly find and download plug-ins that work great with our Autodesk software and make our job a lot less stressful.
Several AEC and manufacturing solutions providers - including US-based CAD Technology Center (CTC), Europe-based SOFiSTiK and Canadian-based Tri-D Technologies - have already used the storefront to expand brand awareness, promote custom software and develop close ties with thousands of Autodesk customers. One-man operations such as SoftDraft, LLC, RedTransit Consultants, LLC and JTB World have also participated in Exchange Apps, contributing anywhere from 15-50 apps - with JTB World emerging as an early adopter of new store features like the BlueSnap payment gateway. Products currently supported in the Autodesk Apps Exchange include: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD ecscad, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Plant 3D, 3ds Max, Maya, Alias, Fusion 360, Inventor, Inventor Publisher, Navisworks, Revit, Simulation and Vault.
