El Festival de Cine Espa ol de M laga cumple diecisiete ediciones. Del 21 al 29 de marzo, M laga se vestir un a o m s de cine espa ol con un festival al que se han presentado 1.605 pel culas, de ellas 109 largos, 832 cortos, 439 documentales y 123 largos latinoamericanos.
La 17 edici n presenta una Secci n Oficial de Largometrajes que mantiene el modelo de la pasada edici n, aunando nombres con una trayectoria importante, con veteran a y muy reconocidos en nuestro pa s, con otros directores m s j venes, con una mirada distinta y m s contempor nea, lo que, seg n la organizaci n, representa la foto fija del cine espa ol del momento.
En cuanto al Jurado de la Secci n Oficial de la 17 edici n, estar formado por el director Manuel G mez Pereira, como Presidente; las actrices Najwa Nimri y Mar a Barranco; el actor Ernesto Alterio; el director Xavi Puebla; el escritor Jos Antonio Garriga Vela; y la directora del Festival CineHorizontes de Marsella, Jocelyne Faessel.
Una de las novedades para esta edici n es el aumento de d as en el Festival, ya que, adem s de comenzar en viernes, el domingo 30 formar parte del Festival con un marat n de cine en el que el p blico podr visionar las pel culas ganadoras de las distintas categor as.
Otra novedad ser el concierto de este a o que estar centrado en la m sica de Pablo Cervantes, compositor de casi la mayor a de las pel culas recientes de Jos Luis Garci y tambi n de Els nens salvatges, ganadora de la 15 edici n del Festival.
En el apartado internacional, Argentina ser el pa s invitado a la 17 edici n del Festival. Adem s, por primera vez, el Festival de M laga estar incluido dentro del Plan para la Internacionalizaci n de la Cultura Espa ola (PICE), lo que permitir que directores y programadores de seis importantes festivales internacionales visiten M laga para visionar y seleccionar pel culas para las programaciones futuras de sus festivales. Estos festivales son Quinzaine des R alisateurs, Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF), Internationale Trickfilm - Festival Stuttgart (ITFS), Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF), Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) y Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival de Manchester.
Homenajes
La 17 edici n del Festival de M laga. Cine Espa olreconoce este a o la carrera de la actriz Maribel Verd concedi ndole el Premio M laga, que ser entregado el lunes 24 de marzo. El Premio Eloy de la Iglesia, concedido al cineasta Pablo Berger, se entregar el s bado 22. Por su parte, el actor Jos Sacrist n recibir el Premio Retrospectiva. Con este motivo se proyectar un documental sobre su vida y su carrera y se le rendir un homenaje el viernes 28 a las 20:30 horas en el Teatro Cervantes.
El Premio Ricardo Franco, otorgado en colaboraci n con la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematogr ficas de Espa a, se entregar al director art stico Gil Parrondo el jueves 27 a las 22:00 horas en el Teatro Cervantes.
Por su parte, Carlos Saura recoger el domingo 23 (22.00 horas) en el Teatro Cervantes la Biznaga a la Pel cula de Oro por La prima Ang lica (1973), un drama con derivaciones pol ticas en el que el realizador aragon s volvi a internarse en la tragedia humana de un individuo que durante su infancia estuvo sometido a las angustias provocadas por las heridas de la Guerra Civil. Noveno largometraje de Carlos Saura y coescrito junto a Rafael Azcona, La prima Ang lica supuso uno de los puntos lgidos de su vinculaci n con El as Querejeta. Est protagonizada por Jos Luis L pez V zquez y Lina Canalejas, entre otros. La pel cula ser proyectada el domingo 23 a las 19.00 horas en el Cine Alb niz.
Finalmente, el Teatro Cervantes acoger el martes 25 (19.00 horas) el Concierto homenaje a Pablo Cervantes, interpretado por la Orquesta Filarm nica de M laga y dirigido por Claudio Ianni, con Guillermo Alonso Iriarte al piano y con la guitarra el ctrica de Jos Mar a Nieto. Pablo Cervantes (Sevilla, 1977) es compositor de m sica para cine y televisi n y ha creado las bandas sonoras de 25 largometrajes y m s de 50 sinton as para televisi n. Entre otros galardones, ha estado nominado en tres ocasiones (2004, 2006 y 2013) a los premios Goya y fue premiado por la mejor banda sonora en el V Festival de Cine de M laga (2002).
