NOMVELO MAKHANYA: I'VE BEEN PRAYING' The popular actress Nomvelo Makhanya, who is known for her role as Lindiwe Ngema in the e.tv soapie said Scandal! was a toxic working environment which almost led her to take her own life.
--
I've been the one that's been catching all the f*cken smoke It wasn't me guys, it wasn't my choice. They wrote me off, that's the truth It was God's plan though, I'm going to tell you that for real.
I've been praying I've been wanting to leave that place For me it was something I had really been praying about so when it finally happened it really felt like God was removing me from the toxic environment. I probably would have killed myself. There was a 90% chance. That's how toxic that place was.
Scandal! production told TshisaLIVE on Friday (2 December) that there was no malicious intent in ending her character and were unaware their work environment was toxic until Makhanya's video emerged on social media.
--
E.tv's Scandal production was unaware that the workplace had become a toxic environment for the actor or any actor for that matter. As a production, we've always communicated an open-door policy for all our cast and crew for any matter or situation whether it is professional or personal.
To our knowledge, as a production, we've had a great run of 10 years with the actor Nomvelo Makhanya and we appreciate the work she put in on her character as Lindiwe Maseko- Ngema.

SCANDAL!' FANS REACTS TO ACTRESS' CLAIMS @smith_tshepi:
You never do that to your former employer. No matter how toxic the situation was .
@Zweit17:
I wonder if production companies would ne comfortable hiring her if he speak like that of her previous employer. I'm not implying that people must be quiet when ill treated in the workplace but it would have been more effective if she had raised these issues while she was there.
@MpofuNancy:
But that's why the cycle never breaks, that's why everyone will leave because of the toxicity. We are so used to bad treatment that when someone breaks the chain it's always about the employer and not the person who eventually chose peace over a mere salary.
Lindiwe Maseko may be gone but she will never be forgotten!
To Nomvelo Makhanya, thank you for sharing your talent with us over the past 9 years. Thank you for the magic and memories! We wish you all the best with your career!

Didn t "Romeo" also leave Scandal for the same reasons?
Nomsa (@NomsaVN1) December 2, 2022
I noticed . They fired gabisile for being pregnant . Tell me why Clint Brick didn't make an appearance and Romeo's character and whole family that was written off so suddenly questions questions

The reality is that the acting industry in South Africa is very small, I hope that for her sake the producers of that show don't sabotage her prospects of getting other roles elsewhere going forward
