More than 14,500 people attend the 15th edition of DocumentaMadrid El Festival impulsado por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid incrementa en un 26% los espectadores de su programaci n en sedes como Cineteca Madrid, Filmoteca Espa ola y Casa de Am rica.

DocumentaMadrid, el Festival Internacional de Cine Documental impulsado por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid, ha experimentado un notable aumento de p blico al superar la cifra de los 14.500 espectadores y participantes en su decimoquinta edici n, frente a los 12.700 del a o anterior. En concreto, su programaci n de cine documental ha registrado un incremento de espectadores del 26 % en las salas de Cineteca Madrid, Filmoteca Espa ola y Casa de Am rica, entre otras sedes.

Andrea Guzm n, codirectora de DocumentaMadrid al hacer balance se mostraba satisfecha: sentimos una enorme alegr a al cerrar esta edici n con estos resultados. M s all de las cifras, que hablan por s mismas, nos han sorprendido gratamente la cantidad de felicitaciones y mensajes positivos que hemos recibido del p blico, los invitados, profesionales y periodistas que han valorado la programaci n, el esfuerzo y profesionalidad del equipo, las actividades que hemos preparado y en general el ambiente del festival. Estamos felices y con m s ganas a n si cabe, de ponernos a preparar ya la siguiente.

Las actividades paralelas de DocumentaMadrid, que buscan crear nuevos p blicos para el cine documental, han incrementado en un 30% el n mero de asistentes. Siguiendo la apuesta del Ayuntamiento de Madrid por la descentralizaci n de la cultura, el festival program pases especiales de pel culas documentales que compet an en secci n oficial en centros culturales de ocho distritos madrile os gracias a la iniciativa Documenta va a los barrios que en esta edici n ha conseguido duplicar la asistencia de p blico a las salas. Adem s esta programaci n cont con la presencia de algunos de los directores de las pel culas, como la colombiana Carmen Torres (Amanecer) o los madrile os Irene Yag e y Alberto G. Ortiz (La Grieta). Tambi n ha crecido el n mero de asistentes en las sesiones matinales De las aulas al cine, en las que los j venes estudiantes disfrutaron de la experiencia de ver en Cineteca Madrid pel culas como ltimas conversas (Eduardo Coutinho), Lo que dir n (Nila N ez) o Mikele (Ekhi e Etxeberria).

Nuevas actividades paralelas En esta edici n DocumentaMadrid ha proyectado m s de un centenar de pel culas de treinta y dos nacionalidades dentro de la Secci n Competitiva del festival, y ha incluido en su programaci n dos nuevos ciclos Natura en Vilo y Desde lo Femenino. El festival madrile o ha contado con la presencia de 80 profesionales de m s de 15 nacionales, entre quienes destacan el cineasta homenajeado, Ross McElwee y la directora letona Laila Pakalnina a quienes el festival dedic sendas retrospectivas en Filmoteca Espa ola. DocumentaMadrid tambi n cont con Jo o Moreira Salles como invitado especial. El cineasta brasile o ofreci una clase magistral en Casa de Am rica, donde tambi n se celebr el homenaje a Fernando Birri y a la EICTV de San Antonio de los Ba os.

Durante los once d as del festival, se han celebrado distintas actividades paralelas como el I Foro Profesional Corte Final, un espacio de reflexi n y apoyo a los nuevos creadores cuyo proyecto se encontrase en un avanzado proceso de montaje o postproducci n. Para estimular la creaci n de redes colaborativas entre profesionales, la primera edici n de Corte Final ha contado con la participaci n de las cineastas y docentes Marta Andreu y Lola Mayo, quienes han analizado los seis proyectos seleccionados. El proyecto ganador de esta nueva secci n fue Mercedes de Isabella Lima y la Menci n Especial recay en My Mexican Bretzel de Nuria Gim nez. Los premios Corte Final, ascienden a 22.000 euros y est n patrocinados por las empresas especializadas Aracne Digital Cinema, DraxAudio, 36 caracteres y Festhome.

Tambi n se desarroll por primera vez en esta edici n la Mesa de trabajo IBERMEDIA, creada para favorecer las condiciones de acceso a la financiaci n del cine documental. En la mesa participaron un nutrido grupo de profesionales, entre los que destacan Elena Vilardell y V ctor Sanchez (Programa Ibermedia), Javier Corcuera (Cineteca Madrid), Sebasti n Arabia (Uni n de Cineastas), Bel n Bernuy (APPA), Roc o Cabrera (DOCMA), Val rie Delpierre (ProDocs) y Peter Andermatt (Programa Media).

Durante tres jornadas el Seminario Pedagog as de la creaci n reflexion sobre las formas de educar a las pr ximas generaciones de creadores audiovisuales y despertar el amor al cine entre los j venes. El seminario cont con la participaci n de especialistas como el cr tico y acad mico Alain Bergala, el padre de Video nas aldeias, Vincent Carelli, el director de la novedosa El as Querejeta Zine Eskola, Carlos Muguiro, los cineastas Ignacio Ag ero y Pau Coll, la docente y codirectora de la asociaci n A Bao A Qu, Nuria Eidelman, la responsable de Drac Magic, Marta Nieto, la socia de Las Espigadoras y Aulafilm, Nuria D az Velarde, o la educadora del grupo Las Lindes, Pili lvarez.

DocumentaMadrid ha reforzado alianzas con organizaciones como Acci n Cultural Espa ola, y tambi n impulsado nuevos acuerdos con Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Fundaci n SGAE, (con quien ya se est trabajando en la celebraci n pr ximamente de un ciclo en la madrile a Sala Berlanga entre el 4 y el 11 de octubre compuesto por pel culas del palmar s de estos quince a os) y sumado nuevos colaboradores como Screenly y Filmin; Aracne Digital, Drax Audio, 36 Caracteres Festhome; y Teletaxi Madrid, que por primera vez ha sido el veh culo oficial del festival.
