Kemper Profiler takes to the stage

Kempers amp-profiling technology can now be used in a live context with ease

The Kemper Profiler Stage allows the use of the companys amp profiling hardware in a live context, with the new Profiler Remote foot controller.

Kemper, German manufacturers of the Profiler Digital Guitar Amp reviewed in SOS way back in April 2012, have announced a version of their hardware designed for live use. The Kemper Profiler Stage combines the technology found in the original amp with the new Profiler Remote foot controller, giving the user quick access on stage to hundreds of profiled amp, cab and processing combinations with a few stomps of their feet, including the user's own rigs if desired.

Virtual Rigs, each with up to four effects, can be switched using dedicated foot-activated buttons, parameters can be altered and complete setlist performances programmed. There are also dedicated buttons to access tuning and looper functions, or to tap out a tempo, plus twin stereo effects loops for connecting outboard, and stereo monitor outputs so two guitar cabs can be driven independently at the same time. Further footpedals and switches can be connected to continuously control or toggle other assignable parameters if required.

Kemper claim that the Remote is ruggedly designed to withstand the rigours of live use, and that it incorporates a sunlight-proof' display, designed to be legible under any lighting conditions. It retails for £1450$1700 directly from the Kemper website. You can find out more about it here.

Owners of the original Profiler can also benefit from a free v6 firmware revision, which adds new Formant and Ionosphere reverbs.
