Ayer mi rcoles se inaugur en la Universidad Internacional Men ndez Pelayo (UIMP), en Santander, el VIII Encuentro sobre Telecomunicaciones Espaciales que organiza Hispasat. Bajo el t tulo The satellite sector responses to the new challenges of the telecommunications market, los primeros ejecutivos de las principales compa as del sector, tanto nacionales como internacionales, debaten sobre estos desaf os y buscan soluciones a las nuevas demandas que plantea un mercado cada vez m s competitivo.
En el acto de inauguraci n, la presidenta de Hispasat, Elena Pisonero, ha se alado que la aparici n de nuevos agentes disruptores desde sectores frontera al satelital hace necesaria una apertura a nuevos planteamientos estrat gicos que enriquezcan los servicios de los sat lites de telecomunicaciones .
Seg n Pisonero, para dar respuesta a los nuevos retos debemos hacer una profunda reflexi n sobre nuestras fortalezas y debilidades y c mo han de trabajarse ambas para que el sat lite siga siendo competitivo. As , hemos de saber potenciar aquellos escenarios en los que somos imbatibles -alta capacidad, cobertura plena, amplia experiencia- mediante un uso cada vez m s afinado de las tecnolog as a nuestro alcance .
Pisonero ha a adido que, ante estos desaf os, Hispasat busca soluciones innovadoras para reforzar la oferta satelital, poniendo el foco en las necesidades de sus clientes. As , trabaja en el desarrollo de servicios audiovisuales avanzados, como soluciones triple play multipantalla para la distribuci n de contenidos por sat lite en diferentes dispositivos, o la TV en Ultra Alta Definici n, campo en el que la compa a es un referente en el sector. Los servicios de movilidad y de conectividad, o las soluciones para situaciones de emergencia y seguridad, son otros mbitos en los que Hispasat est centrando sus esfuerzos en innovaci n.
Durante la jornada de ayer los representantes de distintas empresas de nuestro pa s y de los principales fabricantes internacionales de sat lites han examinado diversas posibilidades para hacer m s competitivos los sat lites de telecomunicaciones, reduciendo sus dimensiones, analizando c mo poder aplicar la ley de Moore a las cargas tiles o mejorando su proceso de construcci n para hacerlos m s flexibles, eficientes y ligeros.
En una mesa redonda hoy jueves se ha debatido acerca de los nuevos avances tecnol gicos en el mbito del segmento terreno de usuario y las novedades en las plataformas de sat lite y en su segmento terreno de control. La ltima sesi n, que re ne a los principales lanzadores de sat lites, se centrar en su contribuci n a la competitividad de las telecomunicaciones espaciales.
