RASCULAR HELPS BROADCASTERS ACRO the WORLD with GLOBAL SALES SUCCEES

Rascular, the leading supplier of PC-based multi-device control, has today announced a series of sales successes across its product range and across the world, from Thailand in the east to the USA in the west in what has been a strong year for the company.

At WUTV and WNYO in Buffalo, NY USA , part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, Don Stewart, Director of Engineering and Operations, explains why he turned to Rascular, Im using ET-Updater-Pro to push internet-based data to my Miranda ImageStore HD for news. My problem was getting this information to display over a live broadcast and the Rascular software was a very affordable solution. I am very happy with the technology.

Meanwhile, Russia Today (RT), which broadcasts three international news channels, a documentary channel, has a significant YouTube presence and also provides a news agency service, has recently completed a major move into new facilities in Moscow. It has installed multiple technologies from Rascular including its flagship product Helm alongside ET-Updater-Pro, ET-Updater and 16 Mediant licenses. Using Helm, RT engineers have been able to efficiently control and monitor Miranda equipment, taking advantage of Helms user-designed panel functionality to create a Miranda machine control panel.

Fellow Russian broadcaster NTV has also deployed Rascular products to upgrade its control room. This includes 16 Mediant licenses as well as a Commander application.

In Italy both Sky Italia, which provides a wide range of multichannel DTH services and La7, Italian national free-to-air broadcaster, have deployed Rasculars device control technology. Sky Italia has installed Timebase, Mediant and flagship product Helm at both its Rome and Milan facilities. Timebase is a powerful and cost-effective solution for dynamically generating live-to-air graphics in real-time. It can be used for any application where dynamic, time-sensitive content is required, including: programme guides; now/next/later slides; shopping channel price boards; music channel artist and song information. In Sky Italias case, Timebase automatically populates Miranda Imagestore CG templates using data from a range of systems.

Meanwhile Mediant is being used to further control Miranda Imagestores. Its a PC application that allows Sky Italia to move graphic files easily and quickly from wherever the creative graphics department has stored them to an Imagestore. Helm has been deployed to allow the creation of a backup master control panel that can be used manually when required and also to provide overall remote Imagestore control. La7 has recently completed the installation of Helm to allow remote Imagestore control, adding to its existing use of Rasculars Media technology. The technology was supplied by Rasculars Italian dealer Video Progetti.

Other key installs include SR, BR and Plazamedia in Germany, all of whom are existing users returning to add additional licences. In Thailand GMM Grammy has bought four Mediant licences while AMC Networks (formerly Rainbow Network Communications) has added further Helm licences for its new control room.
