Media Links EMEA to Introduce IP Solutions at SVG Sports Production Summit

15 July 2016, Stansted UK: Media Links EMEA, has announced it will be introducing its leading, broadcast media and data IP transport solutions at the SVG Sports Production Summit, to be held on 10 September at the Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam.

The Sports Production Summit coincides with IBC and aims to reflect on the past year's progress in sports production, confirms John Smith, managing director, Media Links EMEA. Most exciting is the increasing adoption of remote production over IP and that's where we will be on-hand to discuss how implementing new workflows can potentially reduce costs and open up new revenue opportunities for broadcasters.

Producing live events has traditionally been an expensive logistical exercise, continues Smith. Until recently, remote production over IP has been prevented by the lack of last mile bandwidth to venues. However, carriers in EMEA have made significant in-roads to improving connectivity and fiber now links most of our towns and cities, including our stadiums. Now, in combination with Media Links' proven technology, we can enable broadcasters to reduce expensive resources and on-site equipment by bringing live camera feeds, including 4K, back into the studio for production.
