Netflix and DiCaprio team up on poaching documentary --

Orlando von Einsiedel s Virunga was meant to be a documentary about the ambitious development projects of Congo s Virunga National Park, but the film took an unexpected turn when the filmmaker came into contact with park rangers, who showed courage and determination in protecting the park against armed militia, poachers and the forces seeking to control the country s rich natural resources.
On 7 November Netflix and executive producer Leonardo DiCaprio release the documentary in the US and in all territories where Netflix is available.
According to indiewire.com, DiCaprio said, Films like Virunga are powerful stories that are a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of our world, the forces that are threatening to destroy it, and the people who are fighting to protect it. Partnering with Netflix on this film is an exciting opportunity to inform and inspire individuals to engage on this topic.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos added, Leo intuitively understands that there is nothing like the power of film to reach peoples hearts and minds. With Virunga, well work with Leo to introduce viewers around the world to an incredible, gripping story that will have audiences guessing right up until the final act.
