Barco takes note of the decision of the Court of Appeal in Oslo in case Barco vs Norxe Kortrijk, Belgium - Projection specialist Barco has received the decision of the Court of Appeal in Oslo (Norway) for its case against Norwegian company Norxe. While the company is disappointed about the outcome it will refrain from further action.
The case was introduced in 2017 based on a claim from Barco against Norxe for inappropriate business conduct. This followed a number of actions and behavior on the part of former Barco Fredrikstad employees, who got together to start a new company. However, a forensic audit, validated by court and conducted within the boundaries of privacy laws, confirmed marks of a coordinated action directed against Barco Fredrikstad's employees and Barco's product development. This urged Barco to protect its assets and core values and formed the basis of this court case.
The decision of the Court of Appeal marks the end of this case trajectory. The company's undivided attention remains focused on Barco Fredrikstad, the center of excellence for high-performance single-chip DLP projection which spearheads Barco's simulation activities. Here we build the next generation of world-leading simulation projectors, in close collaboration with our partners and aiming to excite the complete market.
Although we remain convinced of the strong evidence we brought in this court case, it is now time to turn this page , says Thor Gjerlow, site manager at Barco Fredrikstad.
