Generations' producer Mfundi Vundla wins battle against cancer' Generations: The Legacy' creator-producer Mfundi Vundla has reportedly been declared cancer free and discharged from hospital.

Popular TV producer Mfundi Mvundla, who's known for his SABC1 soapie Generations was reportedly hospitalised in 2022 where he was getting treated for cancer.

MFUNDI VUNDLA: HOW DO YOU KNOW I HAD CANCER' The Morula Pictures founder Mfundi Vundla, who has created shows such as Generations, Backstage, and Generations: The Legacy was reportedly surprised when Zimoja contacted him regarding his cancer scare.

How do you know that I had cancer because it is a private matter? Vundla added: anyway, I have been advised by my family not to do any interviews pertaining to that matter

A source close to the family revealed to the publication: He is doing well back at work and taking it easy.

God is amazing we are grateful for his recovery! another source revealed.

The publication reveals that Vundla went to the doctor after complaining about pain and discomfort.

The pain was not even that excruciating but after doctors ran some tests, which came back positive, he was immediately treated for cancer, adds the source.

GENERATIONS' PUBLICIST CONFIRMS HOSPITALISATION Generations (now dubbed Generations: The legacy) spokesperson and publicist Nandipha Pantsi confirmed to City Press in May 2022 that the producer Mfundi Vundla had spent time at a Parktown hospital for a chronic illness.

Pantsi told the publication: Yes, he was in the hospital, but he is at home now and he's doing well.

It is believed his ill health was kept under wraps from cast members and the public.

A senior Generations cast member told the publication:

I don't know anything about him not being okay. I have not seen him in the office in a while, but I did not ask anyone because he is my boss, and his personal life does not concern me in anyway. I was not even aware that he was in the hospital. I hope he gets well soon.

Though City Press did not specify his illness, the publication revealed that the 75-year-old executive producer and director was reported to be in a frail condition when he battled the chronic illness.
