Richard Wolf Joins the Switch as Executive Vice President

The Switch announced the addition of Richard Wolf as Executive Vice President. An experienced corporate executive with more than three decades of video broadcast experience, Wolf will be instrumental in The Switch's continued integration, expansion, and innovation of its revolutionary customer-controlled transmission network and systems, including The Switch becoming the choice broadcast video transport solution for sports programming.

Thirty-seven years ago I began my career in the same building that was home of Hughes Television Network, said Wolf. I feel so privileged and am excited to be both back home' and a part of The Switch team, a team of people I have known and respected for longer than most would care to admit.

Prior to joining The Switch as Executive Vice President, Wolf spent the last 33 years at The ABC Television Network where he served as Vice President of Telecommunications & Affiliate Support. While at ABC, he was responsible for all technical, operational, and management systems associated with the distribution of the ABC Network to its 240 affiliated broadcast stations. He was also in charge of the contribution process associated with the gathering of video/audio content and for the implementation of broadcast voice and data communications requirements for the programmers of The ABC Television Network including ABC Daytime, ABC Entertainment, and ESPN on ABC.

Wolf's impressive career has spanned almost four decades. Prior to joining ABC, he spent a year at RCA American Communications and three years at Hughes Television Network from 1976-1979.

Rich Wolf is one of the most highly regarded television executives in the industry, and someone I have personally known for almost 30 years said Scott Beers, President and CEO of The Switch. The addition of Rich to our team will be a tremendous asset and it is an honor to have him join our The Switch family.

A graduate of State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting, Wolf also holds an Associate of Arts degree from Nassau Community College, Garden City. Additionally he is currently Chairman of SSPI's Awards Committee, leading the process for SSPI's annual awards programs including the Industry Innovators Awards, the SSPI Hall of Fame and The Promise and Mentor Awards, is Co-Chair of The Radio Frequency Interference - End Users Initiative (RFI - EUI), is an Advisory Board member of the Satcon, Satellite and Content Delivery Conference and Expo, is a member of Intelsat's Media Advisory Group (IMAG), is on the Advisory Board of The Sports Video Group (SVG), has been a representative of The North American Broadcasters Association (NABA), serving on its Technical Committee. Additionally, he is currently on the Board of Directors of NYC Outward Bound Schools and The Emma Bowen Foundation.
