CBC Audience Development is introducing a Capitol Broadcasting Company ORIGINAL, in partnership with Black Country Productions. Black Country will air on FOX 50 June 19, 2019, at 7:30pm.
Black Country is created/directed by CBCs own Keyetta Mangum and produced in partnership with CBC Audience Development.
I am Black Country, said Mangum. Born and raised on the countryside of North Carolina.
The show represents a Black America you havent seen on TV. Its about family, faith, character, mentorship, and a country lifestyle that values connection to the land and each other. Theres also horse racing and little moonshine. At its core, its also about community, and people lifting each other up core values of CBC.
Mangum continued, The people you will meet, the lifestyle you will visually experience and the values displayed are captivating. I'm so excited and I can't wait for you all to see this premiere on FOX 50.
AUD Corporate Producer Anita Normanly helped support the trek from creation to the debut on FOX 50.
Its great to be part of the post-production and marketing of Black Country, said Normanly. When someone is passionate about something it shows, and this is a project Keyetta has been passionate about for a long time. She knows this story and the people in it so well. Its extremely personal for her. Im late to this game, but the more I work on it the more I feel like I know these cowboys and cowgirls too.
Mangum is happy to be partnering with the crew at CBC to bring her documentary to more viewers.
Working with Shelly and the CBC Audience Development Team continues to be an awesome experience, said Mangum. Their passion for this project is so truly rejuvenating.
The feeling is mutual.
