As part of TVBEurope's MediaTech 360 Summit at the end of March, we'll be hosting a panel focusing on the importance of educating and mentoring young people in the media tech industry.
The Rise Up panel, which is scheduled to take place on day two, will discuss a number of key themes including:
Importance of education at an early age
Importance of mentoring
The importance of getting the message out that there as an industry behind the screen
What the industry can be doing to support Rise and other initiatives
The panel will be hosted by Nicki Fisher, chair of the board at Rise, and will also feature Polly Hickling, course leader, Media Technology at Solent University and Stefania Popescu, systems engineer, Sky.
The MediaTech 360 Summit takes place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th March and registration is free.
Other speakers taking part include cinematographer Greig Fraser, who will join us for a fireside chat about his work, including Disney Plus' award-winning series The Mandalorian. Fraser will also take part in a panel on virtual production alongside Epic Games' Ben Lumsden.
The BBC's Purminder Gandhu will join Brendan Yam from Viacom CBS and Muki Kulhan to discuss the challenges and opportunities for content providers with 5G in the short to medium term.
Kuhlan will also join Deluxe's Richard Welsh and KPMG's Hugo Pinto to investigate how far automation technologies have infiltrated the traditional workflows of today's media enterprises, and where there remain opportunities to adopt AI and machine learning along the content production, management, and delivery ecosystems.
Signiant's Mike Flathers, Sinead Greenaway from UKTV, the DPP's Mark Harrison and Tal Hewitt from EY Parthenon will join Lunny to highlight the technologies and trends that are shaping the evolutionary road ahead for media and entertainment businesses as included in TVBEurope's 2021 MediaTech Outlook report.
Google's Justin Gupta will take a look at funding the future of TV, and women's advocacy group Rise will discuss the importance of education, mentoring and promotion in the great world of broadcast technology.
