Prime Focus expands facility in Chandigarh, to hire 500 more artists

Mohali, May 26, 2014: Prime Focus World, the creative services business of Prime Focus, the global leader in media and entertainment industry services, has announced the expansion of its state-of-the-art facility, in the city. The new division for View-D , a proprietary 2D to 3D conversion technology, is expected to create nearly 500 local job opportunities for artists who are seeking a successful career in the field of post-production and creative services.

With this announcement, Prime Focus wishes to bring Chandigarh to the forefront of providing world-class creative services. The expansion of the facility promotes this vision, and ensures that there are better job opportunities in creative services such as View D and Rotoscopy, within the city.

Merzin Tavaria, Co-founder & Chief Creative Director, Prime Focus, said, For the Chandigarh facility, we are looking at expanding our capacity to 1000 artists. We started our Chandigarh office in 2011 with 200 talented artists on challenging international projects and it gives me immense pride to say we are the pioneers and trendsetters mentoring good talent to create an impact in the international creative services landscape. He further added, Chandigarh has given us some really good talent for our Rotoscopy capabilities in Mumbai and we have scaled up massively. Now we are expanding the team in Mohali to enable those interested in the creative industry to hone their skills, locally and recreate a success story here as well.

The Chandigarh facility, contributes to elements of international projects, and is led by a highly trained team and Prime Focus expert team of stereographers.

Some of the recently Hollywood projects Prime Focus is working on include Sin City A Dame to Kill For, Edge of Tomorrow and Maleficent. Prime Focus has also been a part of some of the biggest Hollywood movies in the past like Gravity, The Great Gatsby, White House Down, Star Wars Episode one The Phantom Menace, Men in Back 3, among others.
