Last weekend, Sky Sports Germany broadcast its first vertical football match multi-screened on Tik Tok during the Super League match between Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig.

It's just the latest effort from the Sky Sports Germany team to produce live football match coverage aimed at the next-generation of fans. Recently, the network has also produced match broadcasts for children with kids in the commentary booth.

Sky in the UK and Germany are both pioneering new styles of production of top-flight football matches with the aim of attracting younger viewers. How and why are they doing it?
