The newest and most advanced version of the asset library software Das Element has been announced. This update prioritizes usability and integrates user feedback into practical, convenient features. These enhancements demonstrate Das Element's commitment to continuous improvement and delivering cutting-edge solutions to valued users. It is believed that these upgrades will significantly boost productivity and streamline workflows.

New video playback controls The video player controls have been updated and refined to improve the review and validation process of the elements. Users can now define a playback range to review a shorter segment of a video clip or sequence in a loop. Additionally, stepping through a sequence frame by frame is now possible, along with dynamic scrubbing of the timeline.

Getting started faster and easier than ever Based on user feedback we learned that the initial setup is key for a well-organized asset management in the long run. A new setup for asset libraries can now easily be created by the push of a button. Choose from a range of various types of presets for different setup scenarios. Keep your existing structure or re-organize all files. Faster than ever, you can control where and how to save your data.

Migrating of elements The project is done, but where and how to save the assets for future use in the upcoming shows? The new migration features allow faster and easier moving of assets between libraries. They enable studios to create sub-libraries from the main library or move assets from a project-based library back into the pool of globally shared assets.

Hierarchy tree per library Searching and finding assets is key for a creative and efficient workflow. Different types of libraries such as: textures, practical elements, as well as 3D assets, require different structures that need to be tailored to the needs and requirements for each workflow. That's why the new version allows custom hierarchy tree overwrites on a library level and offers seamless search across all assets and libraries.

Numerous other enhancements have been made. Users can now utilize so-called path values tokens as tags or metadata for better organization and retrieval of elements. Finding elements without tags and sorting them by the number of tags is now as simple as a push of a button. Plus, the tags are now clickable, allowing users to effortlessly add them to filters and refine their searches with a single click.

For Houdini users, the new path notation $F has been introduced, facilitating smoother and more intuitive workflows. Plus, different technical improvements, like reducing the installer file size by 50%. In the ingest view settings, users can set custom previews for elements even more easily, providing a more personalized and efficient asset management experience.
