TONY WERNER SELECTED AS 2014 SCTE CABLE-TEC EXPO PROGRAM CHAIR
Premier cable engineering event to be conducted Sept. 23-26 in Denver
OCT. 22, 2013 (Atlanta, GA) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that Tony Werner, executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer of Comcast Cable, will serve as the program committee chairman for SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014, scheduled for Sept. 23-26, in Denver.
Werner will drive the development of educational content for Cable-Tec Expo 2014 that will accelerate the deployment of next-generation products and services. He succeeds Kevin Hart, executive vice president and CTO of Cox Communications, as program committee chair.

Werner was elected here Monday by his fellow SCTE Board of Directors members to serve as vice chairman of the board for the 2013-'14 term.
In his role with Comcast, Werner is responsible for developing and guiding the company's technology strategy, including supporting next-generation consumer systems and technologies, engineering, network integration, management tools and technical standards. Werner has more than 25 years of engineering and technical management experience, having held senior management positions with Liberty Global Inc., Qwest Communications, Aurora Networks, TeleCommunications Inc. (TCI)/AT&T Broadband, Rogers Communications Inc., and RCA Cablevision Systems.
The cable telecommunications industry's largest engineering show, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo annually brings together experts from across the cable operator, programmer and vendor communities. The conference supports SCTE's educational goals through technical workshops, hands-on, technology-focused exhibits and knowledge sharing with peers from throughout the industry.
