Adam Richman comes to ITV with BBQ Champ

ITV has commissioned BBQ Champ, a brand new five-part series for the summer which will feature Adam Richman.

Star of Man v. Food Adam will be joined by a team of contenders who will compete against each other to become the first BBQ Champ.

With the UK BBQ market being worth upwards of £7 billion (2013 figures) and with the UK being named Europe's leading BBQ nation for the fifth year running, BBQ and alfresco eating is big business. 18.5 million British adults own a BBQ and we held 125 million BBQs in the last year alone. BBQ Champ aims to tap into that BBQ talent and find Britain's best barbecuers.

Each week, our contenders will prove themselves in challenges that will sort the BBQ champs from the BBQ chumps. From creating mouth watering BBQ masterpieces to reinventing culinary classics for the coals and catering for the masses, each contestant will have to try their best to win Adam's approval.

Of course like any great BBQ, they'll have to contend with the great British weather as well as Adam and his fellow judges as one gets sent home every week.

BBQ Champ was commissioned by ITV's Director of Entertainment and Comedy Elaine Bedell and Commissioning Editor Entertainment, Kate Maddigan. It will be a co-production by Whizz Kid Entertainment and Adam Richman's production company County of Kings.
